was founded in Fall 2008, by
Terry Bangs, Lizz Dabney,
Cathy Heller, Dustin Helvie
and Barry Reszel. All were
principals in St. Joseph
Church's Joe! Productions'
stagings of Godspell and
Children of Eden and
believed their successes
there should continue in the broader community.

While musical theatre is the thread that ties Liberty Town's leaders (the founders were joined by
Lisa Stueckemann in 2010), the organization was intentionally set up as an entertainment production company to be a catalyst for myriad artistic entertainment in greater Libertyville, whether self-produced our brought to town.

Since its inception, Liberty Town Productions has produced the Steven Schwartz/Studs Terkel musical Working, its own Musical Summer Showcase featuring Broadway's best, a Holiday Top-40 Sing-Along and A Night of A Cappella Music featuring award-winning collegiate group Redefined. Liberty Town Productions was also the coordinating organization for Libertyville's inaugural Fine Arts Month in March 2010.

Ian Liberto is a Libertyville native professional actor, dancer and singer in New York who is currently in the male swing with the Broadway productions of Promises, Promises.  We met Ian when he became our choreographer for Children of Eden, and he gave up a piece of his summer in 2009 to lend some celebrity status to our first Summer Musical Showcase.
